Textbook: Holt McDougal Mathematics Algebra Common Core Grade 2012

General Course Information:
Algebra 1 introduces the student to variables, algebraic expressions, equations, functions, inequalities, and their graphical representation. The student develops the ability to: explore and solve mathematical problems, think critically, work cooperatively with others, and communicate mathematical ideas clearly. We will be using an iPad version of the text in class with technological components that will enhance student learning.
Materials Needed:
Math Notebook (can be shared with another subject)
Math textbook
Pencils (all work must be done in pencil)
Classroom Schedule:
Do Now
Check homework assignment
Go over homework questions
Lesson covering new material (notes)
Practice new material (board or notebook)
Mid-Chapter quizzes online
Chapter Tests when finished with each Chapter
Various seasonal projects will be completed during class time
Grading Policy
Grading is on a weighted system. The breakdown for percentages follows. (Tests 40%) (Quizzes 25%) (Classwork 15%) (Homework 20%)
Absence Policy
If you are absent or miss my class for any reason you will be responsible of the work you missed. You will be given the same amount of time to make up the assignment as was originally given.
